Down In The Holocene

Living in a land of eternal summer.

About

23.

I can be described in a series of twos – two main languages (English and Chinese), two hamsters and two left feet. Growing up, I subsisted on a diet of Dead Poets Society and elusive indie bands. Through the years, I have never lost my love for reading and writing. I have continued writing and hope that, one day, I can share my prose and poetry with the world, that they may bring others just as much joy as they brought me when I was writing them.

Why Do We Write

“We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion.”

John Keating, Dead Poets Society

holocene

relating to the current epoch; a post-glacial future

i. Advance with caution. Pretty much all the poems here are rough works, drafts that have yet to be, so there’re perceptible flaws and imperfections.

ii. Generally, I refrain from giving my poems titles, mainly because I feel that one or two words can never distill the essence of a poem

iii. Evidently, not everything here is written from experience. Some may be, some may not be.
